Dial-A-Bus Shopping

Derbyshire Connect provides transport to shopping destinations for people unable to use conventional buses because of age, disability or because they live in areas where public transport is limited.

Derbyshire Connect services, where requested, will provide a weekly trip local communities to a nearby shopping area or supermarket.

 

Services are door-to-door and passenger assistants are available, on request, for anyone needing extra help.

Runs weekdays, generally between 9am and 4pm and needs to be booked in advance. There are no weekend services.

Derbyshire Connect is a new bookable door-to-door shopping bus service, funded by Derbyshire County Council and running five days a week.

 

Who is the service for?
Derbyshire Connect is for people of any age who are unable to use conventional bus services because of mobility difficulties or because they live in areas where bus services may be limited. All vehicles can carry passengers in wheelchairs. Gold Card holders can use Derbyshire Connect services free-of-charge.


Which area do you cover?
Derbyshire Connect South and West is run by Ashbourne Community Transport on behalf of Derbyshire County Council. Depending on where you live, you will be taken to a shopping destination in the Derbyshire Dales, High Peak or South Derbyshire district and borough council areas of the county. Please contact our booking line on 01335 300670 to find out if we cover your area.

How often will the service run?

Every community will have the opportunity to make a return trip to local shops once a week. This maybe high street shops including the bank, post office and chemist, a shopping centre or a supermarket. It may not be the closest shopping destination but the one which offers the best shopping amenities.
